First QRP ARCI Contest Champion
Bob Patten, N4BPThe Executive and Managers of the QRP Amateur Radio Club International are proud to announce that the winner of the First Annual QRP-ARCI Contest Championship is Bob Patten, N4BP.

The first QRP-ARCI Contest Championship ran during the 2007 Contest Season.  In this contest the entries from nine of the individual contests sponsored by QRP-ARCI were tallied to give a total standing for all of 2007.  To be eligible, an operator needed to enter at least three eligible contests, and their top five finishes would be considered for their QCC Score.

QRP Quarterly - Winter 2008 update
The Phasing Type Transceiver by WB9IPAThe Winter 2008 issue of QQ features part one of a great design by Paul Alexander, WB9IPA. Unfortunately the article, entitled A Phasing Type Transceiver for the 60 Meter Band, suffered some kind of technical glitch and a few of the schematics are difficult to read.

High resolution diagrams may be downloaded from the website - the file is a 147KB PDF and further details can be found at the authors own webpage.

Straight Key Century Club

SKCC is a rapidly growing organization that promotes the use of CW sent with a straight key. The group promotes the spirit of Straight Key Night year round. As of 24 November 2007, SKCC has 3,679 members.

Waterproof logbook in the fieldOperating in the great outdoors is fun. Even in winter events like FYBO and the Polar Bears PBMME see dozens of hams braving the elements and trying to master CW with frozen fingers. But how do you log those contacts when it's raining ? Ever tried writing in a notebook that's turning into mush ?

Well, Andrew Kabasakalian WB2WZC has the answer. At QRP ARCI we have tested his waterproof logbooks in pouring rain - they work ! Simple as that.

Kanga US Hit by Midwest Flooding
The Kanga workshop after the flood
Bill Kelsey, N8ET and owner of Kanga US, has told QRP Quarterly editorial staff that his company has sustained major damage as a result of the floods in the Midwest.

While he counts himself lucky in comparison to some of his neighbors, the flooding has nevertheless caused considerable disruption to his firm.
