Ray Goff G4FON (QRP ARCI member #11153) has announced the release of version 9 of his famous Koch Method CW Trainer software. This program is generally acknowledged as the best for morse code tuition. It uses the principle that the student will learn a few letters at a fast speed. When those letters are mastered then 2 more characters may be added. For those that know the code it is just plain good fun to play with. Just learn 2 letters a day and you have the alphabet done in less than 2 weeks More details may be found at the G4FON website. |

Members of QRP ARCI have a wide range of ham related interests. There are homebrewers, contestors, award hunters . . . well you name it, we probably have a member who does it. We have a section in the QRP Links area where we feature the home pages of QRP ARCI members. If you have a homepage that we can include in the links, please let us know about it. One member who did just that is Jake N0LX. He enjoys operating outdoors and his website contains some stunning photos of his trips. You can get to his website via the Members Homepages section of QRP Links. |

On October 7th 2006 the G-QRP club hosted the annual QRP Convention at Rochdale in north-west England. It is estimated that there were 250 - 300 attendees. QRP ARCI had a stand manned by Stan AC8W, Dick G0BPS, Ken W4DU, Hank K8DD and Steve G4GXL. It was a truly international event with hams spotted from Denmark, Spain, France, Canada, USA, Sweden, Australia, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. A raffle seems to be mandatory at all QRP gatherings and Rochdale is no exception. George Dobbs G3RJV is seen here making the draw for the winner of a 1 year subscription to our own QRP Quarterly magazine. This was just one of many prizes. |

The new members of the Board of Directors took their 'seats'
on the 1st April. It was no joke that we have two superb
new members who will enhance the already existing members.
Together with Hank K8DD who was re-elected, their period of office is for four years and runs until
31st March 2010. The other three members of the BOD, Bill
N8ET, Ed W1RFI and Mike KO4WX all end their terms on 31st
March 2008.
The position of President will also be up for election by the
BOD early in 2007 when my own term of office comes to an end.
